September 2007

9/27/07 - Logan had his first set of shots on Monday. I was really worried about giving them to him, but I went ahead with it. He was in a good bit of pain on Monday. his poor little legs were sore and he was running a little bit of a fever until Tuesday night. The poor thing didn't have much of an appetite and we backed down to 3oz bottles for about a day. he has more than caught back up now though. I started with a little over 5 oz today and he is happy as a stuffed pig again. Ha. He is one fussy little boy if you try to pull that bottle away before he is finished, but once he is done he is so content. he is doing pretty good on the new medicine for the reflux. I have figured out that when they normally say you need to give it to them about 15-20 mins before they eat, Logan does a lot better when I give it to him about an hour ahead of time. He still spits up and occasionally throws up all over me, but he seems to be doing a lot better. We still battle constipation every so often because of the cereal in the bottle, but like the doctor said: The cereal helps the reflux , but it gives him gas and may make him constipated. Without the cereal his reflux acts up really bad. Double edged sword!!!
Well I start back to work on the 10th and I am SOOOO not ready to go back. I look forward to the "break", but I am going to miss him so much during the day. These last few days I can really tell that he knows I am mommy. He looks at me and just stares and smiles and coos almost as if he wants to say " I Love You Mommy. You take such good care of me." I know, I know, I may never hear the second part, but I am hopefull!
Our house is coming along!!! They painted it this week and are hanging dry wall this weekend. The cabinets should be installed sometime next week/end. I can't wait for us to live there and be able to decorate Logan's room like I want! It's going to be so beautiful!!!
Well thanks for checking up on us! We love you!

9/15/07 - Logan has been doing pretty good. He has his fussy days. We have been feeding him cereal to help with the reflux. I think he has too much in his system though and it seems to have constipated him a little. So we are giving him pear juice and Karo syrup to get him regulated again. I stopped giving him the cereal for now until he starts pooping regularly again. We also changed him from Prevacid to Zegerid for the reflux and it seems to be working a lot better. He still spits up, but no more than a normal baby would. Just wanted to give everyone an update. Love you all.

9/8/07 - Logan has been doing really good. We had an Upper GI on Wednesday and although the results were great, he had to drink Barium and it really messed up his stomach for a few days. It constipated him a little and made him hurt a little. I think we are in the clear now though. He is doing great. We have been having some really good nights. Thursday night he ate at 800pm and went to sleep around 930pm and slept until 445am. First time he has ever done that. I don't usually let him go more than 5-6 hours without eating, but I am also use to him waking me up. Then last night he ate at 630pm and went to sleep around 930pm and didn't wake up until I woke him up at 100am. Then he ate and went back to sleep for 4 more hours. He finally seems to be able to rest. Probably catching up from all the nights where he was hurting and gassy. Well I have posted some more pictures. We were supposed to go to Birmingham this weekend, but daddy is really sick with a cold/flu bug and we can't afford for Logan to get sick. So we are decked out in football gear today and ready to watch some foozball.

9/2/07 - Logan is doing GREAT! We started putting cereal in his bottle on Wednesday night and with the formula and the cereal he is now eating a 5 oz bottle and loving it. The Prevacid seems to be doing the trick for the most part. I think we will have to up the dosage because it seems to wear off before the next dose. All in all though we have had several good days in a row. I finally feel like he is doing better. We are still going on Wednesday to have the Upper GI done to make sure everything looks good inside.
Logan had his 6 week portraits done on Friday. He did SO good as you can tell. The pictures turned out so good.
We went on Saturday to see Kristin, Dave and little Will. The best buds finally got to meet outside of the hospital. They were on complete opposite schedules. They cried, slept, fussed and ate at different times, but we managed to get a few good pictures of them!
Also - Daddy and Logan sat and watched their first Alabama football game. I was able to find the perfect little jersey for Logan to match daddy
