LT's Kindergarten Orientation

I can not believe my baby is starting Kindergarten in 2 days. This morning felt like a big blur. We got up early and took JC to daycare, then we went and waited in line in front of the school to be one of the first in to find out his teacher and get a feel for the school. I absolutely love AE already and he hasn't even started yet. Mimi came up and met us with Princess B.

When they opened the doors it was a bit of chaos. We went down the hallway that had this beautiful woodsy mural on either side. Then we went to sign up for PTA (because I honestly can say that I have been waiting a long time to be part of the PTA). His teacher's name is Mrs. S and there is a para pro named Mrs. C. They seem very nice and LT was taking in all the sights and sounds. He seems so much older having just gone to orientation. I took him out to the playground for a few minutes and then we left. She gave us this bag of confetti with the coolest poem I have ever read:

Ready Confetti
The night before school is exciting and fun.
There are always so many things to be done.
Your clothes are ready, your backpack is too.
Your classroom is full of smart things you will do.
There are so many questions that go through your mind,
all types of thoughts of every kind.
But sometimes we all get the jitters down deep,
and that makes it hard to fall fast asleep.
So I've made you some magic confetti, it's really quite cool.
It will help you be rested and ready for school.
Just sprinkle the confetti under your pillow in bed
on the night before school starts where you lay down your head.
The confetti will help you sleep through the night,
and you will wake up in the morning fresh & bright.
I'll sprinkle confetti under my pillow too,
and remember: I can't wait for school so I can see you!

April 17,2009 - Happy Birthday JC

JC made his entrance into the world Friday afternoon at 2:36pm. he is almost the same size as LT at 7lb 14oz, 21.25" long and 14.25" head. He has dark hair all over his head and looks different than Logan (I think). He is adorable and so far is doing great with breastfeeding.

Everything went great yesterday  and after 3 epidurals the surgery went quick and easy. We collected cord blood from the umbilical cord to bank in the case that we ever need it for any life saving illness thru VIACORD. I also donated my placenta to a company that is using them in eye surgeries and other surgeries. They already take it out anyways so I figured it was a good donation.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

April 2009 - Hospital Trial Run

4/13/09 - I just wanted to give one last updated post before baby JC makes his arrival on Friday.

LT had a great Easter! We went to church and he was so excited about the choir singing. He kept clapping and standing up. He started feeling bad that afternoon, but at least he had a good half day of feeling good!

We are battling a very bad sinus infection with LT right now. We went BACK to the doctor today and he gave him a 3-day antibiotic to hopefully knock it out before surgery on Friday.I hate it for LT because he is absolutely miserable. He woke up with his eyes pussed together this morning. The sinus infection moved into his eyes and his right ear has another infection. it's a pretty bad overall infection this time. I just hope it clears up quickly. It's doing a number on both me and Daddy. Daddy has been getting up with him at night because in about 4 days I will not be able to pick him up for a while. He is having a hard time adjusting to daddy comfort. He is so used to mommy comfort. Luckily last night he slept good all night, but then again he did not nap yesterday. Today he felt so bad that he took two naps. He is on an antibiotic, benadryl and tylenol/motrin because he has been running a fever. I hope since it is a 3-day antibiotic that he will feel a lot better in the morning.

As for JC - I am completely ready for him to get out! I am uncomfortable and exhausted and tired of being both at the same time. Plus it makes it really hard with LT being sick to not be able to really hold and comfort him like I normally would due to the gigantic belly protruding! We will post pictures as soon as we possibly can on Friday/Saturday.

WISH US LUCK AND A QUICK C-SECTION RECOVERY! We can't wait to see our new little man!

4/1/09 Glad to be home from the hospital. I came down with a bad case of the flu bug Monday night and as of 130 Tuesday could still not keep fluids down. Had to go to L&D for fluids and monitoring. I was contracting every 3 minutes, but it was due to the low fluids. Two bags of fluid, lots of monitoring and a couple of small meals and I got back home today around 100pm. I am considering it my trial run since there are only 17 days left!!!!!!! LT had a hard time tonight - I think a little separation anxiety since he went to bed Monday night and didn't see me again until tonight. =( Poor little guy. I missed him so much!!

March 2009

Well I have fallen a bit behind on my updates. Everyone is doing great. Logan is getting to be such a big boy lately. He THINKS he is older than mommy, but mommy has to remind him every once in a while that that is not the case. All in all he is a pretty good boy. I don't think he realizes or understands that there will be another baby in about 4 weeks, but he is excited none the less. He says "Jasthen" for Jaxon and he smiles really big when you ask if he is excited to have a brother. He knows where his room is and knows to point to my belly when someone asks him where Jaxon is. Again, I still don't think he really  understands, but we will see. I think he may surprise us all. He is a pretty smart kid.

He has been doing great in daycare. We have him in 2 days a week right now so I can spend more time with him before Jaxon interrupts his life. He is definitely a handful and my mom has been a HUGE help! We try to get him out to play at the playground or an indoor gym at least once or twice a week. I of course sit by on a couch or chair and take pictures while everyone else gets to play with him, but at least I am there.

As far as the pregnancy - it has been really good other than the occasional high bp issues. It has started spiking back up recently with no change in activity or eating habits so the doctors are watching it. I started swelling last week which caught me off guard and I have been having a lot of Braxton contractions. Luckily I go to the doctor twice a week now so they have a pretty good eye on me. They did some blood work on Friday to make sure everything was still doing ok since my bp has been up and I am swelling. Plus Jaxon was moving 'great' for me, but not good enough for the doctor so she said the blood results will be in on Monday and I would be called if I needed to come in earlier than my scheduled Friday appointment. We shall see.

Like I said - all is well and I am getting very anxious about seeing my new little man. They still say he has a lot of hair. I saw it on the ultrasounds. I will believe it when I see it.

Hopefully there will be another update before the 17th, but in case not - please keep us in your prayers that everything goes well with the c-section!

Love you all!

February 2009

Logan had his 18 month ckeck up today and it went great! He is weighing in at 30.1 lbs and 35.5" tall. Yes my 18 month old son is almost half as tall as his daddy. Crazy! Everything was great. He got his Hep A immunization shot. We are holding out on the MMR until his 2 year appt. I am going to hold off on so many shots with the new baby. I want to spread them out a little and limit to one needle prick per visit. I just don't believe he needs so many before he is 6 months old.

I had an OB appointment yesterday and everything looking good and was measuring fine. We scheduled the C-Section!!! You can email me if you want details. I don't want to put them on the site.

Hope all is well with everyone and Logan says "bye"!
